In a move that sees Kiko Kostadinov, Brain Dead, and Asics come together in the name of collaboration (and style), the trio have teamed up to release the Asics GEL-Fratelli, with the shoe embodying a creative spirit that lies at the core of all three brands.
The GEL-Fratelli marries the sole of the GEL-Nimbus 23 style with varying elements of the Asics Lazerbeam upper; the Kiko Kostadinov team designed the right side of the shoe with Brain Dead tackling the left side. Both sides contradict each other in style and colour, yet the synergy between the two remains unmatched. Despite the contrast, the two halves work well together, actively participating in a playful and joyful dialogue made especially for the wearer. After all, after a year of doom and gloom, what's wrong with an individual joyous take on one of the brand's most beloved styles?
One hundred and twenty pairs of the GEL-Fratelli will be released online on kikokostadinov.com and wearebraindead.com and available at the Los Angeles Brain Dead store on 15 August.
