Farfetch Beauty Wants To Fill Your Beauty Bag With ISAMAYA
From dancing to dentistry, becoming one of the beauty world’s most influential provocateurs wasn’t Isamaya Ffrench’s original goal. ‘I didn’t have a clue who Pat McGrath or Val [Garlarnd], or Topolino was. All these people I look at now and have a lot of respect for,' Ffrench told Nick Knight in a 2015 episode of SHOWstudio’s Transformative series. The then rising talent already included a number of industry heavy-hitters in her CV, including i-D, Vogue, and Yves Saint Laurent cosmetics, thanks to her experimental and norm defying approach. As one of today's biggest names in beauty, she was recently named OFF-WHITE's beauty curator and launched her very own cosmetics line, ISAMAYA. First released on Ffrench's own website, her internet-breaking lipsticks are now getting a special release via Farfetch.
Last month, Ffrench caused a digital stir when she announced her first line of lipsticks appropriately dubbed 'Lips'. What’s sure to become a mainstay of her brand, the product flooded social media thanks to its distinct phallic design. With virality a big factor in making or breaking product launches, we should consider Ffrench a marketing mastermind with ‘Lips’ quickly selling out from her website. Well, anyone who missed out on the initial release is in luck because Ffrench has partnered up with Farfetch who have re-released the lipstick along with the brand's other creations.
The ‘Lips’ line includes two products; the signature Colour Infusion Lipstick in a satin-finished scarlet hue dubbed 'cardinal', and the Water Balm in the shade 'vanity'. As the perfect topper to the bold red, the sheer glaze with black shimmer was created to add a slick depth to any make-up look. Of course, both products are cased in chrome, penis-shaped packaging which the brand states 'calls for human connection, and maintains our ethos of celebrating one's self'.
Along with the 'Lips' re-release, Farfetch is also dropping ISAMAYA's other range of products including the Wild Star collection. Inspired by the grit (and glamour) of the wild, Wild West, the pony shaped collection is a lot less risqué than those viral lipsticks. The collection comprises of a pressed palette pigment, lip liner, mascara, and lipstick all cased in gold and rhinestoned packaging.
