When Balenciaga held their Fall 24 show in sunny Los Angeles, what stomped down the runway was a reimagining of the city’s 'it' guys and girls. From the logo tracksuits to Erewhon branded bags and to-go coffee cups, the show was rife with references to the hills of Beverly. It shouldn’t come as a surprise then that the city’s renowned shopping destination, Rodeo Drive, would inspire the maison’s latest it-bag.
Introducing the Rodeo Bag. Crafted in exquisite calfskin, the latest in Balenciaga’s covetable line-up features a smooth finish that only gets better with age. With the rising trend of the ‘worn-in’ look taking over social media (thanks to the paparazzi pics of the Olsen twins’ distressed bags), the Rodeo Bag's natural patina makes it softer over time for that effortlessly lived-in look. First introduced at the S/S 24 show in paris, the Rodeo's tilted silhouette adds to a laissez-faire aesthetic, with the intentionally open front compartment exuding a sense of casual elegance.
Reinforced side snaps on accordion folds provide the option for a slimmer yet expandable profile, adapting seamlessly to the wearer's needs. Other details include pre-worn pleats, and raw edges as well as a double lock closure. For collectors and enthusiasts, special editions of the Rodeo Bag offer an array of charms, including a heart-shaped leather-framed mirror, heart-shaped carabiners, a chain of lockets and keys, souvenir-style pendants, and a Balenciaga retail tag in leather.
Synonymous with luxury fashion, Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills has long been renowned as one of the world’s premier shopping locales. Featured in some of the biggest pop culture moments from Garry Marshall’s Pretty Woman to Weezer’s 2005 chart-topper of the same name, the street is almost as iconic as the stars who shop on it. We're placing our bets that it won't be long before the Rodeo Bag is a fashionable fixture on the arms of Rodeo Drive shoppers.
