Designer Shayne Oliver of the New York brand Hood By Air has collaborated with futuristic eyewear brand Gentle Monster for the second time.
The label Hood by Air, which grew out of the glittering underbelly of New York's ballroom and club scene, has created a new collection of sunglasses with Gentle Monster, unveiled in a high voltage campaign. Having previously collaborated on a set of visors for S/S 16, the latest collaboration is inspired by the New York streets from which Shayne Oliver's Hood by Air was born in 2006, also nodding to the motorcross gear worn by Naomi Campbell for their 2021 relaunch.
Gentle Monster's previous collaborations include Coperni, Ambush and Moncler, and linking up with Hood by Air once more they've tied together the subversive, high energy nature of Oliver's brand with their own futuristic inkling. In the campaign, models straddle motorbikes whilst wearing the collection, and all four styles are finished with a metallic collaboration logo, and are packaged in a visor-shaped case and animated box.
Antagonist 01 is a goggle style with black acetate frame and flat front top with grey lenses, and AntagonistW1 a white frame version with brown lenses. For an even bolder look, AntagonistR2 features a hot red frame with metallic lenses to match, and AntagonistP2 have a pink frame and red lenses. For the US market, gold-tinted Mother glasses are also available.
