In the eternal rat race of any metropolis, it’s easy to take for granted the quiet moments and natural beauty that lie beyond the city limits—the open skies, serene landscapes, and the grounding simplicity of nature that offer a much-needed escape from urban chaos. Giving us a welcome dose of nature’s wonders, Holzweiler has just unveiled its latest lookbook as a celebration of Norway’s northernmost island, Krøttøya—a rugged, breathtaking landscape that serves as both the backdrop and inspiration for their ‘Memories’ collection.

‘At a time when the world feels increasingly uniform, we wanted to highlight the richness of our Norwegian identity and the warmth of our culture,’ explains creative director Maria Skappel-Holzweiler.

The S/S 25 collection is rooted in the notion of ‘homecoming’, embodying a sense of nostalgia that invites wearers to embrace the comfort and familiarity of home while celebrating the distinctiveness of Norwegian craftsmanship. The island, a former military base, has since transformed into a thriving fishing hub, where the rich maritime culture and the bounty of the sea come together to shape the community's identity.

With the windswept coastal climate in mind, the collection features an array of chunky argyle knits in gentle grey and soothing periwinkle blue, each adorned with a whimsical intarsia landscapes that playfully declares its identity. White crochet dresses evoke youthful freedom, while flannel shirts embody the rugged allure of the island. Practicality and contemporary style collide in relaxed silhouettes and thoughtfully designed layers that cater to the ever-changing weather.

‘We wanted to evoke the energy of two young people returning to this island—perhaps to visit their childhood home or connect with their grandparents. It’s about exploring the echoes of the past and the memories that shape us, all while embracing the vibrant energy of the present.’
