Goodbye, dry January and hello fast-flowing February. If there was any excuse to break your New Year’s drought, it’s probably Valentine’s Day. As the consumer holiday creeps closer you can’t take two steps outside without being inundated with images of hearts and declarations of love. Whether you’re a monogamist, polygamist, or find yourself forever single, the holiday is sure to have you pondering (in one way or another) all notions of love. Love for others, love for yourself, and most importantly love for material objects. That’s why we’ve rounded up our favourite ways fashion is celebrating Valentine’s Day this year.

Christian Dior Valentine's Day 2024

Christian Dior

Every year Christian Dior’s Valentine’s Day collection has the brand’s superfans ravenous. Just watch TikTok superstar Audrey Peters wax and wane about last year’s covetable Lady D-joy bag where the iconic cannage quilting is reimagined as hearts. This year, however, the Maison is swapping hearts for butterflies. More specifically an embroidered motif by Pietro Ruffo dubbed ‘Le Cœur des Papillons’ adorns the signature Book Tote. In line with creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri's passion for finding strength in femininity, the romantic embroidery is just the thing to off-set the iconic design's practicality.

With red a defining colour of Valentine’s Day, it’s no surprise that Valentino would have something up their sleeve to celebrate love in all its forms. While the Maison has curated a selection of accessories that are sure to tug on the heartstrings of their intended, it’s their signature VLogo Moon bag that takes centre stage. First introduced at Valentino’s S/S 24 runway show in Paris, the compact design quickly shot to it-bag status with its soft crescent shape, and golden hardware and the perfect date night companion.

Lanvin

Speaking of date night, Lanvin has the guys and girls covered when it comes to picking the right outfit with their Valentine’s Day capsule. Inspired by unbreakable bonds, the collection is a showcase of Lanvin’s timeless designs with some modern flourish. Drawing inspiration from Lanvin's archival lookbooks, the campaign comes to life with the use of 'Polignac pink,' a colour cherished by Jeanne Lanvin.

SKIMS

When it comes to holidays Valentine’s Day is arguably the campiest. From boxes of chocolates to heart-shaped candy, the day is plagued by irreverent declarations of adoration that tend to veer in sickeningly corny territory. Playing up this light-hearted approach to love is SKIMS who enlisted the help of Lana Del Rey and image-maker of the moment Nadia Lee Cohen to create the campiest V-Day campaign of the year with the songbird as the ultimate pin-up.

Chet Lo

From the vintage-inspired to the ultra-modern, London designer teamed up with premier dating app Tinder on his first Valentine’s Day collection. The limited edition capsule comprises graphic t-shirts with witty sayings like ‘no one’s type’ and ‘don’t be sad. Ur so hot.’ Embodying the realities of dating in the digital age. ‘It's an exciting exploration of love, fear, and the messy, beautiful journey we take in the world of dating,’ explains Lo.
