Givenchy Teams Up With xydrobe Bringing The TK-360 Trainer To Life
Making its runway debut as part of Givenchy’s S/S 22 collection, the fully knitted TK-360 trainers are the maison’s most futuristic kicks to date. Conceived by creative director Matthew M. Williams, the bold design is defined by the stretch-knit upper that's fully integrated with the sole. Utilising completely new state-of-the-art production techniques the pair is further proof of the brand's commitment to innovative technologies.
To showcase the innovation that went behind the singular knit design, the storied Parisian label teamed up with virtual fashion agency xydrobe to create a custom animation. A team of digital artists hand-animated over 600 frames with more than 90,000 knits and purls to recreate the shoe in this self-weaving animation. This follows up the digital group's collaboration with JW Anderson which saw the #HarryStylesCardigan minted into an NFT that was sold at auction for $7500 last year. While a TK-360 NFT hasn't been announced, we wouldn't be surprised if another groundbreaking auction was in the works.
