From streetwear visionary to taking creative control of storied couture house Givenchy, creative director Matthew Williams always has his eyes set on the future. Hot off the heels of his collaboration with underground New York-based label (b).STROY, the American designer is venturing deeper into the metaverse by introducing a collection of limited-edition NFTs. This next chapter in Givenchy’s Web3 journey follows last year’s NFT drop with American graffiti artist Chito as part of the brand’s S/S 22 collection and Givenchy Parfum’s NFT launch in June, celebrating Pride Month.

From the creative minds of Atlanta-born innovators Brick Owens and Dieter "Du" Grams, the design-duo brought their signature streetwear to Givenchy with a playful capsule collection defined by bold graphics and experimental iterations of the brand's emblematic pieces. 'For this collaboration, we wanted to merge our respective aesthetics and create an experience that goes beyond the collection itself', said the (b).STROY co-founders. Streetwear essentials, including hoodies and varsity jackets are adorned with an array of patches fusing the world of streetwear and Parisian luxury. The capsule also sees some of the maison's iconic accessories get a revamp, including the instantly recognisable Shark Lock boots in an all denim iteration and the TK-360 trainers in new gradient colourways.

‘Brick and Du are longtime friends who share my vision of fashion as an inclusive space for experimentation and expressing personal style’, Williams explains of the collaboration. ‘Together, the three of us focused on creating streetwear with unexpected treatments that resonates beyond fashion and enters the realm of contemporary art on the street and in Web3.’

Accompanying the release of the capsule collection is a set of six NFTs sold along with the corresponding physical product. The NFT collection was created in partnership with the artists behind Web3 collective FELT Zine. Founded in 2011 as an independent fashion magazine the collective quickly transitioned into a digital platform for 3D artists and producers of Web3 and metaverse projects. 'FELT Zine collaborators are directly influenced by talents like Matthew M. Williams, who allow us to create freely and see our aesthetics and interests reflected at the highest level of art and fashion.' explains founder Mark Sabb. The Givenchy x (b).STROY NFTS are minted on Ethereum with the drop facilitated by Aura Blockchain Consortium's NFT solution and technology.
