For many fashion fanatics (this writer included), the world of archive fashion is the closest thing they’ll ever get to trading stocks and bonds. That is, as iconic pieces from collections of days passed get older they also get more rare and therefore are worth more. You don’t need to have a degree in economics to understand appreciation. Well, if you still don’t know where to start in your archive fashion journey you’re in luck because Heat have made it easier than ever with their latest drop.

HEAT x Vetements

HEAT might not have been the originators of mystery boxes but they have elevated them to luxury levels. Following the introduction of the SUPERBRANDS box last year (which featured items from Prada, Bottega Veneta, and more), HEAT have teamed up with Vetements for their latest drop. Introducing three Vetements packed packages, the HEAT, HEAT PLUS, and a one-of-one GRAIL CRATE will be filled to the brim with pieces from the Vetements archive going back to the day’s of Demna in 2016. Not only will it feature the brand’s subversive take on luxury denim and tailoring but also pieces from their numerous collaborations with DHL, Oakley, and more.

HEAT x Vetements

When Vetements first hit the Parisian fashion scene in 2014, the collective led by Demna and brother Guram Gvasalia (the current creative director) shook the system with their disruptive designs. From reworked denim costing thousands of pounds to the rise of the designer hoody, whether you loved it or hated it Vetements quickly became one of the most talked about brands (on and offline) in the second half of the 2010s. With many of their most covetable pieces like the metal logo hoody from A/W 15 and the infamous DHL T-shirt from S/S 16 have become collector’s items. Going for well over their initial retail value on second hand sites like Grailed, there is no denying the market for archive Vetements is booming.

HEAT x Vetements

Upping the ante with this one-of-a-kind drop, HEAT are introducing the GRAIL CRATE. The unique steel cube is stamped with custom dollar bills featuring faces from the HEAT x Vetements campaign. An ode to the iconic money print that Guram introduced with his A/W 22 collection, the box is also secured with heavy-duty chains to keep the iconic goodies locked away inside secure. After all, as the top tier of this drop, the GRAIL CRATE will be available for a whopping £5000.

HEAT x Vetements

If that’s beyond your budget, the standard HEAT box is marked at £500 while the HEAT PLUS box is priced at £990. Last week, HEAT hosted a limited pre-sale run which swiftly sold out in 45 minutes. The good news is that you have until 14 June to decide on which box you want to get your hands on.

The HEAT x Vetements mystery boxes are dropping exclusively at heat.io on 14 June.
