With sustainability one of the fashion industry’s most pressing issues, there’s no shortage of brands innovating production to ensure a cleaner, greener tomorrow. One such brand is South London’s very own Denzilpatrick. Headed by co-founders Daniel Gayle and James Bosley, their eco-conscious approach to design has garnered the attention of the Pitti Discovery Foundation, who have plucked them to showcase at Pitti Uomo as part of their sustainable style programme, S|STYLE.

The initiative launched in 2020 set out to change how we engage with collections by putting sustainability at the forefront. Previous brands featured by S|STYLE include Y/Project with the launch of their ‘Evergreen’ collection and Los Angelian brand Phipps, who reworks dead stock fabrics in his celebration of American menswear.

Denzilpatrick is leading the charge in London’s sustainable menswear movement, with eco-conscious practices at the heart of their businesses. Keeping an eye on every step of production, the brand works closely with its weavers, printers, and embroiderers to ensure they are utilising sustainable practices and materials.

Still, that doesn’t mean aesthetics are taking a back seat. By incorporating vibrant colours, bold patterns, and modern silhouettes, they're proof that sustainable fashion can be both cutting-edge and desirable. For A/W 24, they looked to the eclectic theatricality of London nightlife. Featuring Edwardian-inspired frill collared necklines and sporty bomber jackets.

Sustainability is taking centre stage at Pitti Uomo 106 with the guest designer this season being Marine Serre. The Parisian designer best known for her crescent moon print and up cycled approach has been at the forefront of sustainable design since she established her namesake label in 2017. Her collections often feature repurposed materials, ranging from recycled denim to vintage scarves, reimagined into modern, avant-garde pieces that challenge traditional fashion norms. With both her and Denzilpatrick's presence at Pitti Uomo as sustainable pioneers, the Florentine platform is reinforcing their priority in paving the way for a more ethical and innovative industry.

Pitti Uomo 106 takes place in Florence from 11 - 14 June.
