'Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams' Lands In New York
Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams, the blockbuster fashion exhibition tracking the history of the iconic French fashion house that first opened in 2017 at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, is heading to New York with a whole 'new look'.
Curators Florence Müller and Matthew Yokobosky have added works from the Brooklyn Museum's collection to the extensive exhibition, which covers over 70 years of Dior womenswear, from Dior himself through to the Marc Bohan, Raf Simons and Maria Grazia Chiuri eras.
Shortly after causing shockwaves in European fashion in 1947 with his 'New Look' silhouette, Monsieur Dior crossed the Atlantic to make his mark. Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams, which has travelled to London, Shanghai and Chengdu, will now be reimagined in the context of the American dream.
