Chloé’s Enchanting Portrait Series Is An Ode To Women Everywhere
When Gaby Aghion established Chloé in 1952, could the Egyptian-born Parisian imagine the brand being what it is today? Setting out to liberate women from the formalities of mid-century fashion, this free-spirited ethos continues to resonate with every coming generation. Creative director Chemena Kamili knows this, which is why she’s cast icons of all ages in her latest campaign.
Shot in Paris by David Sims, the Chloé Portraits series sees iconic models from varied decades in the maison’s signature romantic draping. With the City of Light as the perfect backdrop, Sims effortlessly captures the ethereal sheen that defines Chloé. Casting includes icons like Jerry Hall, Natalia Vodianova, Jessica Miller and Liya Kebede. The house also introduces fresh faces Fei Fei Sun, Ornella Umutoni and Kristine Lindseth.
‘I wanted to capture the emotion and energy of Chloé and the women who embody both its history and spirit. They are effortlessly powerful, beautiful, free,’ explains Chloé creative director Chemena Kamali.
The upcoming models aren’t the only fresh faces in Chloé’s latest campaign. As the ultimate palette cleanser, the imagery features the brand’s refreshed logo that was unveiled last month. While not the most drastic change (only slightly slimming down the typeface), it’s a sign that the brand isn’t straying too far from its past while looking firmly to the future. With Chloé’s A/W 24 runway show taking place at Paris Fashion Week later this month, let’s see if Kamali continues down this path.
