The winners from the SHOWstudio x Harrods Fashion Film Awards 2019 have taken the London-based label into a whole new digital dimension.

Founded as a platform for championing innovative fashion communication, at SHOWstudio we're always on the hunt for the next, best fashion filmmaker. In 2019, creative studio DBLG were crowned the winners of the Best Fashion Film Award at the SHOWstudio x Harrods Fashion Film Awards. Now, they've created a film for the designer Charles Jeffrey, taking one of London's favourite brands into a whole new dimension.

DBLG designed, directed and animated the experimental film Digital Souls alongside visual artist Jason G Wiley. Using Jeffrey's unmistakable scribbles and illustrations, together with photogrammetry and animation, the film celebrates the queer spirit of Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY. Harking back to the brand's origins as a club night at Dalston Fabrics, the film features supposed clubgoers in a white studio space. Glitching and pixelating, perspective is warped and twisted into a new augmented reality as the protagonists' faces are reformatted into 'cubist maps'. Alongside the film comes an accompanying zine, available to purchase online.

As everyone's lives have moved online, Jeffrey has dove head first into the digital arena. Having launched their e-commerce site last year and a digital platform through which to explore the collections, Digital Souls continues to explore what the Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY may look like in our virtual future. Spoiler alert, it's looking pretty good.
