Casablanca and Selfridges go way back. After the iconic London department store bought Casablanca's first ever collection, their relationship finally is coming full circle. The apres-sport chic brand headed up by French-Moroccan creative director Charaf Tajer has debuted its first ever womenswear collection at Selfridges. 'It seemed a natural fit for us to host the installation, launching our first womenswear collection,' said Tajer. 'As an emerging brand, we are honoured to create our own Casablanca get-away for customers inside such an iconic store.'
Hosted in a vibrant yellow installation space, Casablanca's A/W 21 'Grand Prix' collection features the brand's lush silk shirts, quilted jackets and skirts, racing overalls, graphic jumpers and a new line of handbag styles.
Casablanca originally began as a menswear brand with a focus on casual tailoring, but nonetheless, plenty of it's customers were women. The brand's A/W 21 collection saw Tajer officially expand into womenswear using a mixture of male and female models – a welcome move thanks to the brand's female audience.
The installation will run in the Selfridges Womenswear Atrium from the 17th August - 5th September 2021.
