When the Apple Vision Pro was announced last year, it instantly piqued the interest of all metaverse-obsessed. As Apple’s first real foray into the realm of mixed-reality, the headset promised to immerse users in a seamless blend of augmented and virtual realities. With advanced spatial audio, high-resolution displays, and an intuitive interface, the Vision Pro was poised to revolutionise the way we interact with digital content. But what does that mean for the fashion industry?
Luxury fashion platform SYKY is looking to break new ground with new technology by pioneering an innovative way to showcase fashion. Bridging the gap between the digital and physical space, SYKY has created an app that immerses audiences in an interactive digital world, allowing them to interact with avant-garde fashions like never before. Bringing audiences closer to designer fashion through hyper-real details, textures, and storytelling components, the app transforms the traditional fashion experience. Users can explore virtual showrooms, participate in live fashion events, and even customize their digital avatars with exclusive designer pieces, making high fashion more accessible and engaging in a digital format.
‘We believe that the fashion industry is entering a period of remarkable change as realities merge and digital fashion experiences blend with the physical world,’ says SYKY CEO and founder Alice Delahunt. ‘We’re excited to continue leading this new frontier with the launch of our Apple Vision Pro app, where we will transport consumers to the front row of the fashion industry, impeccable design and inspiration with the ultimate luxury fashion experience’.
The first brand getting the digital treatment courtesy of SYKY and the Apple Vision Pro is Japanese-based Anrealage. Founded by designer Kunihiko Morinaga in 2023, Anrealage has been a fixture at Paris Fashion Week since 2014. Known for their fusion of avant-garden and artisanal tradition, Morinaga was previously an LVMH Prize finalist and counts A-listers like Beyoncé as clients.
‘Fashion shows, which once required extensive travel and the experience of purchasing clothes from stores, can now be accessed simply by putting on a device in your own room. All the constraints of reality are removed allowing one to freely experience the extraordinariness of fashion from their own room or daily life’, says Morinaga.
Making its debut on SYKY’s new Apple Vision Pro app is Morinaga’s The Pyramid Dress. Working exclusively with digital patterns, Morinaga was free from the limitations of real-world defining. The result is a fluid design with a myriad of realistic textures, fabrics and forms. Still, SYKY promises more than just engaging with exclusive designs. In the digital space, the SYKY app is set to be a digital extension of the fashion industry, allowing visitors to experience ateliers, design spaces, fashion presentations, and new retail environments. As a pioneer in the intersection of fashion and tech, SYKY aims to redefine how fashion is consumed and appreciated.
SYKY for Apple Vision Pro is available as a free download on the visionOS App Store.
