Burberry's Lola Campaign Is A Star-Studded Joy
Inspired by The Kinks song 'Lola', the brand's staple bag is an ode to strong women all over the world, which meant it was only fitting for Burberry to gather a small group of four strong women - Bella Hadid, Lourdes Leon, Jourdan Dunn and Ella Richards - to star in the house's latest campaign. Describing at length what he envisions the bag's owner to be like and how he translated this thought into the campaign, Burberry chief creative officer Riccardo Tisci said in a statement:
'Lola, at the very core, embodies an attitude – she is strong, sensual and intelligent all at once. For the campaign, I really wanted to celebrate that attitude and all of the facets that make up the Burberry woman, so together with Torso, we created a fantasy world where she is free to exhibit her strength and be captured in all of her beauty from every angle. Strong women have always inspired me beyond limitations... they represent femininity at its most powerful and the essence of that attitude that is inherently Lola.'
Captured by the visionary Torso Solutions and styled by Suzanne Koller, the campaign speaks of a simple yet distinctive visual language capturing Lola's 'attitude' from every angle.
Acknowledging the honorary bag, Dunn commented on the 'strong yet graceful and fierce yet gentle' elegance of the accessory, while Richards assured that for her, 'Lola means independence'. Both Hadid and Leon also stated their love of working on the campaign, with Leon feeling 'humbled yet comfortable' and Hadid admitting to 'always having the best time on set'.
Although exhibited in one size in the campaign, the bag is available in various sizes, styles and colourways, from pale vanilla and camel to natural raffia and black - available to purchase globally in Burberry stores and online.
