Burberry Saddles Up With The Rocking Horse Bag
If you have memories of rocking on a rocking horse as a child then Burberry’s latest design is sure to trigger some nostalgia. The Rocking Horse bag, named for its curved silhouette that was made to be cradled, combines the charm of childhood with the brand’s commitment to impeccable craftsmanship.
The innovative design showcases Burberry's signature blend of classic motifs and contemporary style. Most notably the brand’s longstanding ties to the equestrian world, which chief creative officer Daniel Lee has been putting at the forefront since he joined Burberry in 2022. Along with imbuing Burberry’s classic tailoring and leather goods with equine-esque details, he reintroduced the iconic Equestrian Knight Design (EKD) as the brand’s signature.
While it’s the rein-inspired strap and playfully curved body that will have you reminiscing on the classic childhood toy, sleek new motifs place the design firmly in the contemporary. Burberry’s lowercase ‘b’ hardware is a clever addition to the bag, complete with a circular fastening. Of course, that instantly recognisable EKD is stamped on the back of the bag for all those who value heritage above all else.
Showcasing the Rocking Horse are the brand’s global ambassadors, Bright, Jun Ji-Hyun and Tang Wei. Their joined by actress Asami Mizukawa and models Lily Donaldson and Nora Attai. As Burberry’s A-list ambassadors continue to grow — Blur’s Damon Albarn, actress Rachel Weiz, and Skepta are among the brand’s campaign stars — who knows who Lee will add to the family next.
