When it comes to celebrating British heritage it’s Burberry who reigns supreme. If you need convincing just turn to their ongoing partnership with Highgrove Gardens and King Charles III’s charity The King’s Foundation. Inspired by the private residence of His Majesty King Charles III and Queen Camilla, the British mega-brand has been cleverly crafting silk scarves featuring illustrations by the nation's emerging artists. For their third collection together they’re expanding the range with a silk-lined trench coat.

Burberry and Highgrove

It was over a century ago (1913 to be exact) that Burberry first released summer coats lined with floral printed silk. To celebrate the brand’s archive chief creative officer Daniel Lee’s newly introduced Castleford trench coat is being reinvented with a vibrant floral silk lining. Crafted from gaberdine from Burberry’s mill in Keighley and assembled at their factory in Castleford, Yorkshire, the design transcends being an outerwear staple by embodying the brand’s rich history.

Still, at the heart of the collection are the new scarves featuring illustrations of Highgrove’s legendary gardens. This time around it was Royal Drawing School graduate Holly Mills who paid a visit to Highgrove Gardens to get inspired. Drawn during the peak of summer, Mills decided on the delphinium (the King’s favourite flower) as her choice bloom. Reimagined in vibrant hues of violet, yellow, and green, the artists’ illustrations capture the essence of the gardens' natural beauty and the royal patronage that surrounds them.

While preserving the beauty of Highgrove is at the heart of the ongoing partnership with Burberry, as a Royal Warrant holder the heritage brand is steadfast in supporting The King’s Foundation and young British artists like Mills. With its latest collection, Burberry invites fashion enthusiasts to indulge in a celebration of timeless elegance, inspired by the natural splendour of Highgrove Gardens and the royal legacy of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
