Browns have just released an exclusive collaboration with the artist Sara Shakeel as part of their festive holiday campaign. Shakeel is a digital artist famed for transforming known images through imprinting diamonds and glitter across their surface. The collaboration is formed in two parts, the first of which sees some of her most adored works - including The Great Supper and diamond-encrusted French fries - installed in the windows of Browns' South Molton Street boutique. The works will be auctioned in partnership with online auction house Paddle8 on 6th December 2019.
Additionally, a limited edition merch collection will be launched that showcases her work on hoodies, jumpers, t-shirts and skate decks amongst other items. The capsule collection is Shakeel's first stride into clothing and includes hoodies emblazoned with images that have been filtered through her signature glistening style - a highlight being a blinged-up version of Da Vinci’s Last Supper, where Christ and his disciples dwell within an otherworldly landscape of diamonds superimposed across the walls.
Sara Shakeel’s work The Great Supper was recently exhibited in Now Gallery in London, where it received rave reviews - it looks like Browns seem to have picked an artist on the verge becoming a global star. This is something of a habit for Browns, as in November 2019, the boutique took over an abandoned supermarket in Berlin to stage part of their Nomad project. With performances from the musician IAMDDB and the DJ collective No Shade, the cultural event included many other new faces that will be shaping culture in the decade to come. With previous collaborations with Dutch designer Duran Lantink (who has previously curated SHOWstudio's Tumblr and whose fashion film is available to view on SHOWstudio too) Browns clearly has an excellent eye for creatives to watch.
