Bottega Veneta Is All In On The Big Bag Trend
Move over minis because this season it's all about maxis. At least that's the case our favourite street style stars are making by trading in their tiny bags in favour of jumbo styles. Helping pave the way for the big bag takeover was none other than Bottega Veneta’s newly appointed creative director Matthieu Blazy who debuted a number of oversized styles as part of his A/W 22 collection. The latest addition to his lineup of timeless styles is a slouchy sack dubbed the Hop, that’s sure to pique the interest of fashion forward fans around the world.
The timeless silhouette was inspired by a style originally introduced by the house back in 2002. With heritage and craft at the core of Blazy’s creative direction, reviving a style nearly two decades later is more than in line with his commitment to timeless design. Of course, like everything else the innovator has put out since joining the brand, the Hop is crafted with the house’s signature 3D Intreccio technique by expert artisans. Supple leather straps are woven together and topped off by a magnetic spherical brass detail, taking two days to create.
For those not entirely ready to ditch small bags yet, the Hop comes in two sizes: small and large. Still, it’s the latter that is sure to become a must-have for any Bottega collector. Like the Andiamo and Jodie, the Hop was made with movement in mind and can be worn by hand, on the arm, or over the shoulder. We couldn't think of a better grab and go bag.
