Since taking the creative helm of the Italian brand in 2019, Nicola Brognano has transformed Blumarine with his irreverent Y2K-inspired designs. For A/W 22 Brogano's hyper-feminine aesthetic turned to the glitz and glamour of Hollywood's front-page making party scene of the early 00s. With hiked-up hemlines, plunging necklines, and strappy stilletos in sickly-sweet hues, the seductive show was ripe for the glitterati looking to land in the tabloids. Bringing the allure of Tinseltown to London, the brand makes its debut at Harrods with a sugar-coated pop-up in the brand's signature shade of bubblegum pink.
To celebrate its arrival at the iconic department store a larger-than-life billboard of the brand's A/W 22 campaign will overlook Brompton Road throughout August. Lensed by Canadian artist and photographer Petra Collins, the candy-coloured campaign references master filmmaker David Lynch's surreal psychological thriller Lost Highway. The dark and dreamy neo-noir-inspired campaign stars Russian supermodel Sasha Pivovarova as she casually wrecks havoc around the Hollywood Hills embodying the chaos of the LA it-girls of the early aughts. Think unapologetically short skirts, crashed cars, and a devilish pout that keeps you coming back for more.
Throughout August you can discover Blumarine's A/W 22 collection at its Harrod's pop-up.
