Graphics and typography not only bombard everyday life - they dictate the every day, proven by Peter Saville once telling SHOWstudio:
'Type is the most profoundly significant aspect of communications design, it's arguably more important than the hair in a fashion show, and the hair is really important in the fashion show. I don't think there's anything as immediately significant in the reading of a fashion image as the hair, so that says a lot.'
Recognising that everything is in the typeface, as well as the hair, Bianca Saunders has upgraded from a Sans Serif to a stylised Serif, naturally giving her label a chic makeover and in the process while also establishing herself as a designer who's constantly evolving.
Wanting to modernise and recontextualise typography that's typically seen in historic works across British history is one facet that identifies the over-arching design inspiration for the new Bianca Saunders logo. Teaming up with graphic designer Jonathan Isaacson and typographer Kia Tasbihgou, the clean Serif typeface provides an elegant finish to Saunders' eponymous label as it goes from strength to strength, setting itself on a path to becoming recognisable and distinct in its own right.
