Tan Gillies isn't afraid to face his emotions head on; his sell-out memoir Cold Bones charting the artist's experience of addiction and sobriety was a testament to that. Now Gillies will be taking the key themes in his work into the format of an exhibition, which promises to be an immersive deep-dive into the throws of life's highs and lows; it's one not to be missed.

'What do you do when you feel too much? How do you navigate the world when your default setting is terror? Is it possible to make peace with death?', are all questions Gillies promises to explore in his debut solo show Nights Of Violence at Soho Revue Gallery, London. Addiction and mortality will be touched upon in the show, travelling from the artist's mother's native Iceland to London. 25 unseen works cover a range of expressive mediums including photography, painting, sculpture, installation, writing and film - the artist's short film Trauma Hurts, released this past summer, showed Gillies' effortless uptake of a myriad of creative practises.

The show runs from 2-23 December, 2021, and is open to the public.
