When it comes to today’s creative pioneers, no one holds a flame to the likes of Arca. The Venezuelan-born visionary artist has been making waves in the music scene since she released her first EPS, Stretch 1 and Stretch 2, in 2012. That was quickly followed by a Grammy nomination for her first album KiCK I in 2021. Well, it isn’t just sonic accolades that drive Arca who is gearing up for her first large-scale series of events taking place during Paris Fashion Week.

In an unprecedented fusion of sound, art, and technology, the renowned artist Arca has unveiled her latest creation, ‘The Light Comes in the Name of the Voice,’ at the Bourse de Commerce. This multi-sensory experience transcends traditional boundaries, offering a unique blend of music, visual art, and cutting-edge technology.

The centrepiece of this immersive journey is a magnetic resonated piano, an electronically-augmented acoustic instrument meticulously crafted for this space. Arca, known for pushing the boundaries of sound manipulation, collaborates with this piano to create an avant-garde quest for sound transformation. The piano, equipped with Bronze AI technology, produces ethereal acoustic sounds by inducing vibrations within the piano strings. These vibrations result in a symphony of crescendos and harmonics, all meticulously controlled from the keyboard.

Adding a visual dimension to the exhibition, the museum's basement showcases a collection of dark and clinical paintings created by Arca between 2019 and 2023. These paintings revealed to the public for the first time, represent a singular image capturing stillness and serving as a receptacle for various emotional states.

The climax of this extraordinary artistic endeavour occurs on the exhibition's final evening. Arca transforms her paintings into the backdrop for a one-of-a-kind club night curated in the museum's basement. The event features a lineup of influential musical talents, including Bobby Beethoven (formerly known as Total Freedom), renowned for skillfully blending contrasting sounds. Joining the ensemble are Caracas' legendary DJ Babatr, master of radical and sharp techno sets Nkisi, and Arca's longtime collaborator and musician, the iconic Björk.
