adidas Spezial's latest collaboration with the British retailer END is full of cult staples.

2024 was always going to be a big year for adidas Spezial, especially since it marks the cult brand's 10th anniversary. Celebrating this momentous milestone, the Gary Aspden-founded SPZL line have reunited with END. for an 11-piece capsule collection By The Sea. (Brownie points go to anyone who can guess the inspiration behind the collaboration.)

The collaboration follows what was a must-see exhibition by adidas in partnership with END. last Autumn, which delved into the archives of iconic adidas Original models as both brand's made efforts to engage with the past while looking towards the future. Adopting a similar outlook for By The Sea and of course in true signature adidas style, this collection specifically revisits the SPZL archive, revitalising a trio of footwear classics offered by the brand including the Moscrop 2 SPZL, the Wilsy SPZL and last but certainly not least: the Samba Deco SPZL. All three styles have been introduced in different yet equally gorgeous colourways as part of adidas SPZL and END.'s efforts to revamp much-coveted designs, making each and every item even more desirable than they already were before.

Speaking of the importance behind this collection, adidas SPZL curator Gary Aspden noted in a statement: 'With any collaborations we do with adidas SPZL, there needs to be a good reason for them to exist. They are often underpinned by strong existing relationships and this collaboration with END. most definitely has that....it felt right to finally acknowledge [their loyalty] with a product pack as part of the SPZL tenth anniversary celebrations...we worked collaboratively with discussions at every stage of the design process.'

A testament to the SPZL archives offering an ever-constant flow of inspiration, seven clothing styles have also been readapted for the 2024 wearer, meaning fans can don the special collaborative pieces head-to-toe, as for which pieces are included? You'll be pleased to know the Calavadella Jacket (named after the idyllic Ibiza cove for all those who are familiar) has made a comeback, as have the brand's Track Top and Track Pant set, (this time appearing in a cardboard-like brown, further entrenching the collection in retro sporting sensibilities). A duo of jersey t-shirts (honouring SPZL’s history with END.) are also listed, together with the Meanwood Polo Shirt (for all those chasing the deft blend of vintage sportswear and modern style look).

Alas, that's not all, making sure this collaborative collection uniquely belongs to END. and adidas SPZL, the two brands have also worked on two headwear pieces; the Bucket Hat (cast in the same Tribe Green tone as the Calavadella Jacket - hello 90s nostalgia), while the Cap proudly displays SPZL’s embroidered motif in a tonal Cardboard brown hue, in line for those wanting to complete their casual Track Top and Track Pant look.

Heading to the seaside this summer? There's no need to flit around the shops in a last-minute hurry, adidas SPZL and END. have figured it all out so you don't have to.

By The Sea arrives at at END. Newcastle on 2 August, before launching online via END. and at other statement stores - including the brand's first European shop in Milan - on 9 August.
