adidas SPEZIAL Redesign the Gazelle for A/W 23

2023 was the year everyone wore adidas Gazelles. From TikTok to the street, they're a fan favourite, alongside the Samba design. For their A/W 23 collection, curated by adidas archivist and Spezial founder Gary Aspden, adidas Spezial looked back on the history of the classic Gazelle.

Remixing elements of the trainer design from the 1960s through to the 80s, the Gazelle SPZL gives the popular silhouette new life.

One bottle green suede colourway with white 'dimple' tongue makes reference to an early 1970s West German Spezial design. The second, navy colourway, looks to the trainer's roots on the football terraces and the style of casual culture. For the first time, the Gazelle features flock stripes, whilst as both designs include a re-work of the upper and new foxing tape.

Both colourways of the Gazelle SPZL are available now through the adidas Confirmed app and select retailers.
