A Fashionable Holiday Campaign Round-Up
From touching stories to nostalgic imagery, this year's holiday campaigns have been a masterclass in capturing winter's cosy charm. Feeling merry, we've chosen our favourites from the A/W 24 season.
Besties in Burberry
Celebrating the winter spirit, Burberry’s holiday campaign explores relationships. Family and friends make Burberry pieces a part of their holiday cheer, a touching story of how the brand *could* be for everyone. The campaign focuses on individual stories, as Wrapped In Burberry sees the London artist Slawn and his family, best friends David Tenant and Alex Hassel, and long-time couple client Drs. Herschel and Lilly Stoller enjoying each other's company, framed by the iconic Burberry check.
Rockin' Around the Rodger Vivier Tree
In the first of two campaigns for the holiday season, Rodger Vivier’s Festive Campaign is set around a Christmas tree, a cosy and dazzling display of footwear and accessories. In brilliant jewelled colours, the iconic Belle Vivier pump, slingback, and mary jane shoes all feature the classic Pilgrim buckle detail. Since 1937, Rodger Vivier’s shoes have trotted their way into the hearts of many, from celebrated women of royalty to the most glamorous actresses. This campaign is a reminder of the brand’s dedication to bringing elegance and timeless luxury to every shoe.
Jacquemus says ‘Tis the Surrealist Season
With the ineffable Alex Consani as the star of the show, Jacquemus’ holiday campaign comes in the form of a surrealist dream. Rube Goldberg-like machines and nods to surrealist artists of yore, along with Jacquemus’ divine A/W 24 collection are Consani’s supporting cast. Both Moon Boot and Trudon Candles make a guest appearance, as this collection’s collaborations. In natural hues, the ready-to-wear pieces in the collection embody a new cosy-chic. Changing narratives of who is subject and who is object, the campaign is a reminder of Jacquemus’ impeccable eye for viral campaigns.
Game-Changing Givenchy
Titled A Holiday Game, Givenchy is not playing around with their holiday campaign. Shot by photographer Mark Kean, the A/W 24 collection comes to life with a beautiful homage to the intimacy in classic board games. Statement outwear is a must for the colder months, and Givenchy has plenty to pick from. Playing with textures, the collection sees womenswear pieces fashioned out of the Maison’s signature cheetah print, faux furs, knits, loved denim, and feather pom-poms. For bags, one can pick from the Voyou in suede shearling, the P’tit Voyou in glossy black leather, the Antigona Toy Lock in dark ebony leather, or the bouncy Pumpkin bag with metallic accents. For their menswear selection, the collection features an emphasis on expression of the founder Hubert de Givenchy’s tailoring. Formal clothing has accents of purple and rust, and star accessories can be seen on the men’s Chelsea boot, and the GV Day sunglasses. Intimate yet bursting with life, Givenchy’s campaign is pure sophistication.
Wrapped Up In Ferragamo
Serious gift-givers know wrapping paper is important, and this holiday season Ferragamo are celebrating their own history with the adornment. Touching on a time when, out of scarcity, Ferragamo crafted shoes out of candy wrappers, their latest campaign features contemporary accessories silhouettes like the Hug Bag, the Hug Pouch or their classic feminine pump (a beloved of Marilyn Monroe). Ferragamo’s focus on wrapping paper underpins their commitment to refining and perfecting the brand’s offering down to the even the most minuscule detail, making for a divine gift all year ’round.
Dior, Dreaming of a White Christmas
Filled with golden baubles and sprinkled with snow, the Dior Men's winter campaign is a testament to artistic director Kim Jones's distinct global vision. Jones's ethos of making minimalistic and tailored elegance feel contemporary and never dowdy. Featuring the Dior Oblique motif throughout, this holiday gifting collection is a strong reminder of Jones’ unwavering and masterly commitment to Dior.
Hitting the Slopes With Armani
Set against the backdrop of the breathtaking Swiss Alps, Giorgio Armani’s Neve A/W 24 campaign sees the collection in action. Pearly hues make up the women’s pieces, while the men’s garments come in darker hues, the collection is aimed at jet setters readying for their winter mountain getaways. Visors, skis, helmets and accessories come to life in boutique window displays, featuring sculptural white, metallic silver, and warm wooden elements.
As a reminder of the fragile state of the world we live in, Armani and One Ocean Foundation have reconvened to continue conversations of climate change, working together to bring awareness on the impact of global warming in the oceans. With a comprehensive mapping of glacier contamination across the Alpine region, the first of its kind, the initiative between the two continues to push the needed boundaries between fashion and its impact on global warming. Contrasted with the collection in the snowy scenery, Armani is aware of the footprint that fashion has to work to remedy.
All We Want For Christmas Is Dennis Rodman
Just in time for the holiday season, outerwear brand Moose Knuckles has collaborated with eyewear legend brand Bollé on a line of performance eyewear. Starring fashion and sports legend Dennis Rodman the campaign’s eyewear melds the world of sport and fashion to create a line of goggles and sunglasses fit for hitting the slopes. Known for his love for exceptional eyewear, Rodman’s stamp of approval. Acute corners and geometric lines underpin Moose Knuckles’ unmatched ability to consider technicality without sacrificing style.
Fendi Is Where The Heart Is
Channelling the spirit of togetherness intrinsic to the holidays, Fendi draw on their Roman history and affinity to London for their latest holiday collection, launching with a festive cocktail at their New Bond Street store last week. The Winter Holiday 2024 collection draws on deep brown and maroon hues juxtaposed against chunky gold jewellery, as oversized bangles and stacked bracelets emphasise the sharply tailored silhouettes of Fendi's Italian leather jackets and mustard-yellow skirts. After something less subtle this holiday season? Look no further than Fendi's detachable charms akin to Christmas ornaments.
Winter Solstice Is Coming, But Bottega Veneta Shines Bright
Trust Bottega Veneta to burn bright through the cold winter months. For Winter Solstice, designer Matthieu Blazy offers the range such a buyer desires in their wardrobe this fall. From leather plaid shirts and animal print to a golden paillette dress, with those highly sought-after Bottega bags in hand, our list for Santa just got a little longer.
Zegna Defines Elegance
With the help of global ambassadors Mads Mikklesen and Wu Lei, Zegna showcased their winter campaign far away in a deserted ski lodge. Wearing handcrafted A/W 24 Oasi Cashmere pieces, the two actors invoke masculine elegance, not unlike the brand's founder, Ermenegildo Zegna. Serene and tranquil, the snow-covered landscape is the perfect backdrop for the campaign, colliding with the feeling that the garments construct on their wearers.
Balenciaga Is Feeling Generous
Balenciaga’s Gift campaign comes in the form of a catalogue, inspired by vintage magazines. Still life images, accessories, footwear and bags each come with their own slogan, using the classics to frame Balenziaga's contemporary holiday gifts. Featuring new and classic shapes, the Rodeo Bag, Le City Bag and the iconic Hourglass bag are highlights. Irony and the surreal are codes creative director Demna returns to in reimagined gifted accessories, with the Holly Hair Bow, a Home Candle, and Snowglobe. What better way to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year, than with putting a Balenciaga bow on it.
Schiaparelli (Gift) Guides Us In The Right Direction
As always, Schiaparelli brings their house codes of anatomy and surrealist whimsy to the holiday season. Available in Schiaparelli’s 21 place Vendôme salon, as well as select stores in London, Los Angeles, Dallas, New York and Shanghai, gift fashion as art this season. Crafted in Italy, anatomical jewellery buckles, knitted gloves and leather accessories all come with that Elsa Schiaparelli wink, done through artistic director Daniel Roseberry's careful eye.
Vixens In Valentino
Under new creative director Alesandro Michele’s watchful eye, scenes of holiday fun play out in Valentino’s Avant Les Débuts holiday campaign. Continuing narratives first shown in the Italian luxury houses S/S 25 collection, the campaign brilliantly captures the curated excess of this new Valentino. Filled with glitz, glamour and gorgeous garments, the campaign and accompanying film also refrence the disco days of the 1970s. With Michele’s love for film, cinematic storytelling evokes the golden era of clubbing - watch the film here.
