A Dior and Denim Tears Collaboration Is On Its Way
It’s no secret that Kim Jones loves collaborating. Since becoming Dior Men’s artistic director in 2018 he’s collaborated with artists and streetwear brands alike. Today it’s been announced that Denim Tears will be joining Jones’ growing roster of Dior collaborators. Dubbed Dior Tears, the collection will be dropping tonight at a private event at the new Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo that will be opening to the public early next year. As part of the brand's Fall 23 collection we wouldn't be surprised to see the capsule as part of tomorrow's grand runway show taking place in front of the Pyramids of Giza.
Founded in 2019 by designer and consultant Tremaine Emory, Denim Tears has become a streetwear favourite for the hip-hop community counting A$AP Rocky, Lil Uzi Vert and the late designer Virgil Abloh as fans. Emory was previously part of our Best In Show series where the designer praised Abloh's Off-White collaboration with Nike. Inspired to establish the brand as a means to start conversations around racism in America, Emory often references the nation's tragic past as a way to reclaim narratives. On Instagram Emory explained this capsule pays tribute to black artists including writer James Baldwin and jazz trumpeter Miles Davis.
Don't miss the Dior Men's Fall 23 runway show that will be live streamed here on SHOWstudio on 3 December at 16:00 BST.
