SHOWstudio Fashion Illustration Pop Up x CIFF

For the 2018 edition of The Copenhagen International Fashion Fair, CIFF's creative director, Kristian W. Andersen, invited founder and director of MACHINE-A Stavros Karelis to curate the CIFF Raven Projects Area. Karelis' unwavering support and knowledge of emerging design talent presents CIFF with a curation at the cutting edge of contemporary fashion. As part of SHOWstudio and MACHINE-A's long-standing collaborative relationship, SHOWstudio are proud to operate as media partners for this exciting event.

Nick Knight and SHOWstudio have long championed fashion illustration. This exhibition surveys SHOWstudio’s 18-year archive, showcasing examples of illustration that challenge conventional understandings of the medium. Animations, film and footage from live broadcasts are displayed alongside original artworks by a selection of SHOWstudio’s community of over sixty artists.

SHOWstudio invited its long time collaborator and artist Fiona Gourlay to illustrate looks from CIFF's A/W 18 fashion shows. Allowing the public unprecedented access and insight into her unique artistic proccess, throughout the period the space evolved as Gourlay illustrated onto the walls directly.
