Yayi Chen is a New York-based fashion designer, creative director and artist who specialises in womenswear, knitwear and textile design.

Growing up in Spain and China, Chen's artistic inspirations stem from her trilingual and multicultural upbringing that saw her immersed in two clashing yet distinct cultures. Her work is embedded in exploring women with multicultural identities and expanding the cross-disciplinary conversation of fashion, performance, film and fine art.

Soon after her graduation from Parsons School of Design, Chen's work featured in Vogue, Dazed, WWD, Harper’s Bazaar, Madame Figaro and Marie Claire. During her time in New York, Chen has worked for several luxury fashion houses including The Row, Thom Browne and AREA.

In 2022, Chen launched her namesake label YA YI in New York with her debut collection and multi-disciplinary project titled IT IS NOT SPRING, UNTIL ALL FLOWERS BLOSSOM.
