William Bain

William Bain is an advisor on Brexit and Trade policy for The British Retail Consortium. Bain attended Strathclyde University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Laws. Since, he has completed a Diploma in Legal Practise and a Masters in Constitutional Law and has lectured part time at the University of Strathclyde Law School and Southbank University. Bain is also a member of various organisations including Unite, Progress, the Fabian Society, and Amnesty International.

Bain was secretary of the Glasgow North East Constituency Labour Party before he was a Shadow Minister for Food (2010-11) and for Scotland from (2011-2013) under Ed Miliband's leadership of the party. During his time as a member of the front bench parliamentary policy committee, Bain contributed to development of policy on transport, environment, and devolution and has written articles and lengthier reports on aspects of economic policy, human rights, and financial services policies.
