Vaquera is a New York-based label founded by Patric DiCaprio in 2013 as a reaction to the lack of diversity in the fashion scene.
Bryn Taubensee, Claire Sully and David Moses later joined the initiative. Their main motive is to 'make people question the established order of things'. Vaquera often references political issues in their work. With the use of pop culture references to engage with wider issues, they have blurred the line between a fashion show and performance art. In 2018, Moses left the collective (amicably).
