Reza Bahrami

Filmmaker and Photographer

Reza Bahrami is an Iranian filmmaker and photographer. Born in 1978, his first documentary entitled A Gravestone for Ardi won numerous awards at The Iranian Film Festival in 2001 and 2002. A documentary featuring his music group Flying Misters, which he formed in 2000, was first broadcast by Channel 4 under the title New Talents as part of their 'Cinema Iran' series, and went on to receive two awards at the 2003 Fajr International Film Festival and the 2004 Kish Documentary Film Festival in Iran. Bahrami's diverse range of work involved him in a documentary about a group of writers and painters called The North Ring.

In 2011 he founded Bahrami Studio, managing diverse and innovative art projects. 'The Flying Classroom' was a hugely successful cultural project based in Iran, where a team of artists and designers visited different schools to stage various workshops, at the end of which the children redesigned a part of the school on their own using what they had made during the workshops.
