Reba Maybury

Reba Maybury is a writer, research consultant, model, lecturer and the founder of Wet Satin Press. Graduating in 2013 from Central Saint Martins with a degree in Fashion History and Theory, her thesis saw her explore the lost costumes of the Michael Clark company. Maybury started working at Sang Bleu magazine in 2011, where her role as editor predominately saw her examine defined themes such as subculture, the body, gender and sexuality, while overlapping these ideas within a contemporary context.

In 2015 she founded Radical People, a newspaper exploring subcultural icons over the age of fifty, living in London, speaking about the importance of subversive behaviour. She also founded Wet Satin Press, a publishing company devoted to looking at the extremities of how capitalism affects male sexual identity. Her most recent novel Dining with Humpty Dumpty was released in 2017 and toured galleries worldwide. She regularly writes for magazines such as i-D, Dazed, AnOther and Man About Town as well as writing for artists and art catalogues. 

Besides writing, Maybury models and has worked with the likes of Nick Knight, Tim Walker, Katy England, Walter Pfeiffer, Tyrone Lebon, Lotta Volkova, Camille Bidault-Waddington, Alasdair McLellan, Robbie Spencer and more. She has written a program in politics and subcultural theory and theoretical thinking which she teaches on the Masters in Fashion at Central Saint Martins and also teaches at the Royal College of Art.
