Patrik Söderstam

Fashion Designer

Patrik Söderstam is an artist, graphic designer, costume designer and photographer. Born and educated in Sweden Söderstam studied at the Stockholm Cutting Academy completing a degree in menswear construction and went on to study Menswear Fashion at MA level at Central Saint Martins College, London. He has worked for the Royal Opera in Stockholm in the costume department and completed work experience on two collections with designer Robert Cary Williams.

In 2000, while still in college, Söderstam produced his own fashion line, which ran until 2007; his work as a designer earned him the 2001 British Fashion Council Prince of Wales Trust Scholarship, the 2002 ELLE Magazine Sweden 'Talent of The Year' award, and the Deutsche Bank Pyramid Award in 2003. He has since been expressing himself within art practices which can be defined as 'neo surreal'. He won Nike's Art Football competition in 2008.

He also exhibited The Core at Art of Football, Basel, in 2008; TV exhibition at The Horse Hospital, London Fashion Week, 2004; and THE SOD exhibition at Swedish Style, Tokyo, 2005.
