N'Gadie Roberts is an Australian author, poet, writing consultant, and dramaturgist from Perth, Western Australia.
Her words have been translated into Dutch by Amsterdam Poet Laureate Ellen Deckwitz, commissioned by award-winning composer Bobbie-Jane Gardiner, and published in various literary journals and anthologies including Cordite Poetry Review, Monash University Press, Westerly Magazine, and Insider Guides to name a few.
Most recently, N'Gadie's poem, ‘Mami Wata’ was orated by Cynthia Erivo and featured in the the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art’s (MET) ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion’ exhibition, with a visual installation by Nick Knight. N'Gadie was also a librettist for the UK’s first Black- and Asian-led Wagner production of The Flying Dutchman opera in Birmingham, England, which received a letter of endorsement from His Majesty King Charles.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Cultural Studies with Honours in Creative Writing from The University of Western Australia. Her writing explores the use of 'The Uncanny' to convey experiences of trauma in contemporary gothic fiction.
Outside of being an author, Roberts holds a Master of Clinical Audiology and currently works as an Adult and Paediatric clinical audiologist in Cambridge.
