Memo Akten is an artist and researcher originally from Istanbul, Turkey. Akten works with computational systems and algorithms to develop creative technology with the aim of providing more interactive multimedia experiences for humans.
Memo is now based in London and is pursuing a PhD at Goldsmiths University of London in artificial intelligence and expressive human-machine interaction. Through his studies in computer science Akten seeks to explore the socio-cultural, legal, and philosophical impact of AI on our world.
Akten sees technology as the optimal media for his own artistic expression. His work has been exhibited in several world-renowned museums including the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and the Grand Palais in Paris.
