Katharine K. Zarrella is a writer, editor, and the fashion critic-at-large at Document Journal.
Previously, she was the fashion director of the Wall Street Journal's Off-Duty section and a lecturer at New York's Parsons School of Design and London's Central Saint Martins. Zarrella launched her career by writing for publications including Interview, The Business of Fashion, and Dazed & Confused.
After earning an MA in Fashion and Fashion Journalism from Central Saint Martins, she landed at Style.com, where she was news editor, and later at V Magazine and VMAN, where she was senior editor. In 2016, she launched the digital platform Fashion Unfiltered, which has since become part of the MA Fashion Communication program at CSM.
Zarrella has written for Harper's Bazaar, W and L'Officiel among many other publications. She lives in New York with her three rabbits (Schiaparelli, Dalí, and Coco), several mannequins garbed in outsize Comme des Garçons ensembles, and a few hundred hats.
