Joseph Häxan

Filmmaker and Photographer

Joseph Häxan is a photographer and filmmaker from Australia who models his own body to create tonally dark works inspired by natural phenomena and the occult. Haxan's work is characterised by its sleek production, juxtaposing the often sinister, debased scenes the work depicts.

Haxan has worked on creative projects with FX's American Horror Story and Lithuanian arts festival Yaga Gathering. Now, the artist is developing a body of photographic work inspired by Igor Stravinsky's Orchestral Ballet 'The Rite of Spring' and a follow up to his award winning short film Tolf.
