John Matheson is an archivist and owner of the Instagram account, @McQueen_Vault.

As an avid follower of Alexander McQueen and the McQueen kingdom, Matheson started @McQueen_Vault as a side project to share 25 years' worth of collected media and personal items. With over 15 years of experience in retail training, education, communication and storytelling, Matheson created a social collage to unite people around the world with a similar love for the British designer.

Hailing from America, Matheson spent many years collecting magazines and videos studying 20th century fashion designers, focusing his interest around European and British creators. Meeting and marrying his husband saw him move to London, where he could explore these inspirations and understand their context. Matheson marks the sharing of stories with many of the original McQueen creators as some of his most cherished moments since creating the account. All aspects of fashion are of interest to him from marketing to show music design, packaging, and even the retail portrayal of the designer's vision.
