Jake Zhang is a menswear designer, currently on MA Fashion at Central Saint Martins.
Zhang's work is heavily socially-driven, in part due to his bachelor’s degree in architecture. Through his designs, Zhang aims to tackle issues surrounding loneliness and ill social health.
Recognising the root of these issues as mainly being driven by rapid technological progress, Zhang's practice aims to utilise what technology can offer for the design process, recontextualising it into something that can be mentally beneficial.
By making wholly from waste and second-hand material - as well as developing zero-waste, reversible craft techniques - Zhang creates circular, sustainable garments. His ultimate goal is to allow us to love and touch one another in a digital world.
