Helen Clifford

Helen Clifford is an academic, writer and tutor. Clifford read history as an undergraduate, after which she joined the V&A/RCA History of Design MA. After completing her PhD on 18th century London-made silver, Clifford taught Art History at the University of Essex, becoming Leverhulme Research Fellow at Balliol College, Oxford before returning to the V&A/RCA to teach.

Clifford is a member of the Association of British Designer Silversmiths, a Liveryman of the Goldsmiths' company, a fellow of the society of Antiquaries, craft advisor to Southern Arts and is highly committed to promoting contemporary silversmiths. She was previously Honorary Fellow at the University of Warwick, and now is Museum Consultant for the University of Warwick's project 'Europe's Asian Centuries.'
