Haili Sun

Haili Sun was born in 1960 in Sichuan, China. After receiving a Bachelor's degree in painting at the Southwest China University in 1984, Sun read advanced studies in sculpture at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. He also later received a Master's in fine art from the Wimbledon College of Art in 2010.
Sun states: 'My passion and vision is to recreate the material "battle" that is between the manmade and the natural world. I intend to explore the transformation between them, and to test the internal essence of distinguishing their tension, dialogue and interaction.' Sun describes himself as having a deep connection with ordinary materials and states that when working with them he feels a change within his spirit through 'unexpressed thoughts and unspoken feelings.'
