Gotscho

Gotscho is a Parisian artist whose work plays with the idea of absence. Following a degree in literature, he worked in the worlds of film, theatre and fashion before starting to create his own work. His installations frequently involve couture garments which have become fused with other objects; a dress might be almost imperceptibly woven into the back of a chair, upholster a stool, or give birth to a chandelier.
Having begun by creating the garments himself, a collaboration with Agnès B. in the early 90s has led to collaborations with other designers, including Comme des Garçons, Christian Dior, Yohji Yamamoto, Martin Margiela, Issey Miyake, Christian Lacroix and Emanuel Ungaro.
