Filmmaker and Photographer
Elizabeth Acevedo is a photographer and filmmaker based in New York City.
Acevedo left the the city to travel across Latin America, training her eye with National Geographic before studying ballet at American Ballet Theater and neuroscience at Johns Hopkins University. Together, these subjects – sights of the sublime, physical expression, and the human mind – coalesced into her singular endeavor of filmmaking.
Elizabeth’s debut short MIRAGE was nominated for cinematography at Academy Award-Qualifying HollyShorts, released with Director’s Notes and screened at Regal Cinemas. She has directed Oscar-nominated Eric Roberts, Devon Bostick (OPPENHEIMER), Dylan Gelula (DREAM SCENARIO), Ethan Cutcosky (SHAMELESS), and collaborated with two-time Emmy-nominated Tristan Baylis (POOR THINGS). Her work has graced Vogue, Rolling Stone Mag, The Times, and been showcased at The Metropolitan Museum of Art and Carnegie Hall.
Ahead of receiving her BFA from NYU Tisch, Elizabeth participated in the prestigious writing seminars at University of Oxford, University of Iowa and Kenyon College.
As Academy Gold mentee of Paramount’s Mark Vahradian, Elizabeth worked on heavy hitter franchises like TRANSFORMERS and BAD BOYS, and at CAA, Rideback Ranch and Gigantic Studios.
Her work has been seen in VOGUE, on the cover of THE TIMES, Stella McCartney, SBJCT Journal, Collini Milano, Reserve Magazine, Client Magazine and in The Metropolitan Museum of Art and Carnegie Hall. Columbia University featured my profile as a top young NYC change maker, and 71 Magazine named me their Next Generation Artist.
