Duckie Thot

Model

Model Nyadak 'Duckie' Thot was born in Melbourne, Australia in 1995 to parents fleeing the Sudanese civil war. She was introduced to the modelling world aged 15 by her sister, YouTuber and former model Nikki Perkins. It was in 2013, however, that her career jump-started, after she placed third on the eighth season of America's Next Top Model

After moving from Melbourne to Brooklyn, New York, Thot signed with model agency New York Model Management and made her runway debut at Yeezy S/S 17. Since then, she has gone on to front campaigns for the likes of Moschino, Oscar de la Renta and Fenty Beauty. In 2018, Thot appeared in the Alice in Wonderland-inspired Pirelli Calendar, shot by Tim Walker; she also made her debut on the Victoria's Secret runway.

Thot has been forthright in speaking out against the fashion industry's lack of diversity, frequently posting about hairdressers unable to style her natural hair, and make-up artists unable to match colours to her skin tone.

In September 2018, Thot became an official ambassador for L'Oréal Paris and has since used the position to champion diversity.
