David Chipperfield

Architect

The award-winning architect David Chipperfield trained at the Architectural Association in London and worked for Douglas Stephen, Richard Rogers and Norman Foster before establishing his own firm, David Chipperfield Architects in 1984, which now has offices in London, Berlin, Milan and Shanghai.

He has since undertaken work in Europe, Japan and the USA with commissions ranging from furniture and interiors to buildings and large-scale urban projects. David was a founder member of 9H Gallery and was a Trustee of the Architecture Foundation between 1992 and 1997. He taught and lectured widely and has been Visiting Professor of Architecture at Harvard University, the University of Graaz, the University of Naples, the Royal College of Art (London) and École Polytechnique (Lausanne).
