Dahc Dermur VIII

Performance Artist
DJ

Dahc Dermur VIII is a performance artist, creator, educator, fashion muse, and DJ based in London. Dermur draws on his experience as a queer elder growing up in a 1980s conservative Texas and a religious household. Their performances combine contemporary Butoh with outsider aesthetics that reflect the experiences of trauma and transformation.

A figurehead in London nightlife and a powerful voice in our LGBTQIA+ community, they use their platforms to harness compassion and speak about mental health, surviving conversion therapy, and conquering 30 years of drug abuse. This journey has paved the way to inspire many with their story and open doors for others.

Known for their signature aesthetic, they have worked in the fashion industry for over three decades, including collaborations with Rick Owens and Michèle Lamy, as well as launching their own collection with business partner Maria Intscher, The Ghost Had No Home.

Another role close to Dermur's heart is collaborating with young designers and mentoring fashion students on identity and finding their voice.
