Bless

Designer

Founded in 1995, Bless is a conceptional fashion label, born from the collaboration of Desiree Heiss and Ines Kaag. Its creations are a blend of product and clothing design, centred around the philosophy of creating new solutions in the worlds of fashion accessories, design and art, for everyday life. By not imposing any limit to its creativity, Bless demonstrate a deep interest for recycling, misusing, undoing materials as well as using traditional and artisanal techniques. Notably, the duo were commissioned to create wigs for Maison Margiela’s A/W 17 show. (The designer insisted they be made from deconstructed vintage fur coats rather than new fur.)

Since 2002, Bless offers a small but varied collection of basic and multifunctional clothes. Unique designers, Bless won twice the ANDAM Fashion Award, in 1999 and 2004. Bless has exhibited at prestigious institutions worldwide including Centre George Pompidou in Paris, Villa Noailles in Hyères, Museum für Gestaltung in Zürich, Boijmans Museum in Rotterdam, Centre d’Art Contemporain in Genève and MOMA in Tokyo.
