Bevan Agyemang
Artist
Bevan Agyemang is a London-based visual artist and designer who is originally from Ghana. Agyemang uses different mediums within his work, which is centred around the layers of constructing identity. He began to depict himself as characters who were influenced by a combination of his parents' old photographs from the 60's through to the 80's and his immediate environment at the time. He uses his body to communicate these stories and naturally develop the power of his aura, working through a subconscious process.
Agyemang's work across the fashion landscape is powered by his documentary approach and the local community. Engaging with his local environment and taking the time to have genuine conversations with the people within it are key. His fashion brand, TSAU (meaning 'the space in between'), finds its utopian reference points across history.
